Iām going to use a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu example hereā¦<gasp> big surprise. š¤£ Seriously though, we can learn A LOT about life from Jiu-Jitsu and itās structures.
š„So, I did belt promotions recently, and I promoted two of my students to purple belt. For those of you out there who donāt do Jiu-jitsu, our belts go in ascending order from white, blue, purple, brown, and finally black.
It takes YEARS to get promoted. Typically about a year from white to blue, at least two years to go from blue to purple, and so on. Like the length of a college degree.š
In fact, it takes ten years to get a black belt! Thatās longer than a lot of doctors study! LOL
Just like Jiu-jitsu has belts, life also has levels. We donāt get a pretty belt to let the world know that we have a certain skill set, but we can still internally assess where we are and where we want to get to.
ā”ļøā”ļø There are levels to personal relationships, finances, fitness, mindset, professional prowess…everything has levels. Levels, levels, levels.
Unfortunately, a lot of the guys that start my Awaken The Fighter challenges have NO CLUE about where they stand…they simply want to āget betterā.
If you donāt know where you are, how do you plan to level up? How do you build a bridge to point B if you donāt know where point A is?š
š„You CAN get to the next level.
š„You CAN level up.
š„All it takes is a little bit of analysis to see where you are now.š
Sounds simple, but most people donāt do this kind of stuff for themselves. And believe me, you CAN level up, all you need to do is write it down. So that’s your homework for today. Write it down. Where are you now? Where do you want to be?
š„Boom. Do it.š„
Have a badass week!
