Local Online Traffic Talk – Google My Business
Hey, starting the week talking a little bit about Google My Business/Google Maps.
The first thing, which is really surprising a lot of times, is to make sure you’ve claimed your Google Business Account from Google. It’s free. It gives you the ability to do all of your business listings, all the information about your gym, your martial arts school.
So, make sure you claim that and have that setup.
That being said, once you get that done, that’s a huge thing you can do for a local business. Because if I want to search for something, I want to Google it.
Look at the organic ranking, look at the maps, see how far the gym is from me. How many reviews it has, etc. So, make sure when you get your Google My Business setup, complete your profile 100%.
If Google asks you a question, fill it up because you want to outrank everybody in your area by having the most complete profile. Putting your hours of operation, your website, your phone number, your address, what forms of payment you take, as many pictures it asks for. If it asks for 10 pictures and 3 videos, do 10 pictures and 3 videos.
Make sure you have all the information completely filled out.
Then get people to start reviewing your Google my business. You want to have more views than any other business in your area. That when people will look at it, they see the map they’ll be like,
“Well okay, it got 5, 10, 15, 20. Oh, this one got 75 reviews. Okay, I’ll start reading this“.
And Immediately you’re going to be positioned to be the number 1 choice.
So, that’s what your project is to go ahead and make sure you claim your Google my business. And if you already claimed it, go and optimize it. Go through the look, see if you can add anything to it.
If Google asks any question if you have a blank space form, make sure you fill those out and make sure you optimize it.
And another tip that you can do is, take the map that they have on your page and get the embed code, put that on a blog post on your website, and link it back to your My Google Business page so Google recognizes that.
Also that you have a link pointing back that shows your active business and that you’re linking back from your site.
Conclusion
So, that’s important, I got that from my SEO friends. Get that page set up, get it optimized, make sure you’re always adding to it, cleaning it up, anything changes and really focus on that.
That’s going to be a big benchmark for all of your local traffic especially when people doing searches on Google, Google maps and like that. You want to make sure you dominate that.
So, I hope you have a great week, get out there, crash it! Keep going.
