I spent lots of time thinking about this week. I don’t know what triggered it.
But it seems like every time I hit a major goal in my life or accomplish something that I’ve been pushing really hard to do, it still feels the same. I mean it’s like “ooh yeah I did it. I hit the goal and crushed it!”
And then you’re back to feeling the same way you felt before you did it.
Then you look back and it’s like “man the journey was the best part”.
It’s like working to get to my goal doing this, doing that. Leveling up the skills it takes to get there. Because when you get to the destination it’s kind of cool. It’s like when you go on an awesome trip somewhere, you go somewhere you’ve never been. It’s like you get there and you’re like “oh this is amazing“. And then you’re like “ok what do I do now?”
So one thing I’ve really tried to work on is just being in the moment and enjoying the journey more. And that’s the journey in business goals, health goals, financial goals, and travel goals. All those things. If I just focus on being happy with that, I think, that’s the ultimate and I could be wrong. This is just a random thought that I had.
But to me, it is just really enjoying the journey. And if something goes wrong in the way of the journey it’s all part of it. Just enjoy it.
And the stuff you get upset about now is it really going to matter in five years? No! You probably won’t remember the things you’re mad about today in five years.
So you really just spend a little more time enjoying the journey.
I’ve got so many things going on.
We launched our new weekly video show.
We remodeled Peak Combat Business.
It’s been a lot of work but the journey has actually been fun.
Yeah, we’re spending a ton of money to put on an awesome event. But for our clients and our future clients – this will be an event they won’t forget.
We want to make sure when they’re there that they’re having a great time on their journey. To grow on their martial arts business will be the best thing for them. And having fun, because after you go there it’s like “ok that was cool what’s next?”
So it’s always building on things. Building one goal, the next goal, the next goal, the next goal. But really just enjoying that journey.
Another thing to keep in mind when you’re on the journey and it appears like things are going wrong is always remember how badly you want it. How badly do you want to reach your destination? And I talked about that in a previous blog here.
Conclusion
That’s really helped me with my mindset. Because it was kind of weird. You start hitting these big goals you dreamed of when you were younger and then it’s like “ok kind of still feel the same. I got to set a new goal.”
So don’t just make time to enjoy the journey, be grateful for the people that I get to go on these journeys with. That helps me with business, finance, health, jujitsu, kickboxing, and everything and the gyms. It’s just fun.
You know life is short. We’re all going to die. But manage to enjoy the journey because you never know your journey might be up tomorrow. Hopefully, knock on wood it’s not. And you live a long life.
We got to see a bunch of epic stuff and do some really cool shit. So yeah enjoy the journey. Just keep pushing.
