Focus and Simplify
Entrepreneurship is a ruthless game and the only way to win is by staying laser-focused and simplifying your tasks. The average entrepreneur is so caught up in trying to do too many things at once that they end up getting overwhelmed and failing.
But let me tell you, if you focus on the key things that need to be done, each day, each week, and make those a part of your routine, you’ll start to build a foundation that will set you up for success.
Simplify the Process
And don’t just focus on the key things, simplify the process. Make it easier to accomplish those tasks without stressing yourself out. The 80/20 rule is the key to success in this game. 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts. Identify the 20% of tasks that are most important and put all your energy into those tasks.
At our consulting company, we use this rule to our advantage. We’ve gone through and looked at the key driving points of our business and identified what we need to get done. Then we simplify it so that we can over-deliver without overwhelming ourselves.
For example, if you’re running an online store, 20% of the most important tasks may be creating and promoting new products, managing inventory, and responding to customer inquiries. By focusing on these tasks and simplifying them, you’ll create a routine that will help you grow your business without feeling overwhelmed.
Build a Solid Foundation
As you build a solid foundation of a routine, you can start to add more tasks to your schedule. But remember, start small and focus on the most important tasks first. That’s how you’ll slowly build up your workload without feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
Focus and simplicity are key to winning the game of entrepreneurship. Identify the key tasks that need to be done and simplify them. Use the 80/20 rule to focus on the most important tasks, and always remember that slow and steady wins the race. With this mindset, you’ll crush your goals this week, this month, and this quarter, and be ready for success this year.
