The Secrets of the Pixel

Today, we are gonna be tackling a tricky subject for some people.

Once I break this down it’ll be a lot easier for you.

We’re going over the Facebook pixel.

Secrets of the Pixel
When I’d get new clients that come in, new gym owners, everybody freaks out about pixels.

Pixels are not that bad. We’re gonna break it down for you really simple and then we can expand from there.

All the pixel is, is a tracking code

I know with all the Facebook stuff going on right now nobody wants to talk about tracking and data.

But Facebook tracks everything people do from Facebook.

But if you put your pixel on your site they will also track your site.

For example, I take my pixel from Facebook. I put it on my site. Someone goes from Facebook to my website then the pixel lets me know “hey these people have gone to your website”.

And now we can show them different ads.

So you show different posts, show them different videos.

You think of it as they go from Facebook to my website. And then from here, I can run ads. It gets a little confusing with conversion tracking things, like that.

A really good way is to use Google tag manager, it’s a little bit more complicated and might be a lot longer to go over that.

So I’m gonna keep it basic with just the simple parts of the pixel.

The baseline that I want you to do with your school is making sure your pixel code is on your website.

The easy way to check this is that after you upload it, or better yet if you have someone they can do it for you. They’ll put the code in there and then you just use a pixel helper on Google Chrome. It’ll actually show if your pixels working above on a green box. So you can use pixel helper and see that.

Don’t let pixels intimidate you. The normal reaction I get is a little bit “oh my god” people freak out about it.

They think it’s more complicated.

All it is is code. It’s just a tracking code. Basically, like cookies.

It’s gonna track people when they go from Facebook to your site things like that.

The pixel is huge because you can use your pixel.

I just tell people, kill two birds with one stone.

Either use Google tag manager or have your web person, put your pixel code on Facebook. And then you can remarket for Google AdWords.

If somebody comes from Facebook to my website, I can hit those people on Google and YouTube ads.

I can hit them in Display Network. I can hit those things so I can amplify my traffic.

This comes in anything. From Facebook, it hits my website. I want my website to be my hub of everything.

When I’m driving traffic, I’m driving all my traffic to my website.

And then you might have, later on, some squeeze pages things like that, that’s the next level.

But for the beginning level of this, understand the pixel. Going through and having it dialed in. Don’t let it freak you out.

The pixels are not that bad a thing. And really the best way to do the pixel install is just go to Youtube.

Google how to install Facebook pixel code.

It’s super simple.

They’ll walk you through. There are tons of videos on there.

YouTube’s a great tutorial on how to do this.

Keep it simple.

The Facebook pixel on your website and Google code on your website.

You can remarket/retarget then.

You just want to take people that have been to your website and show them ads.

Somebody that goes from Facebook, might not click on your ad when they see it. Unless they’ve seen your brand.

They say it takes seven to ten touches till somebody’s interested in buying something from you.

The scenario might be from Facebook – they’ve just not seen my video on Facebook or whatever I ran on Facebook.

Now they take my website okay good.

Pixel on. Boom!

I can run a nice ad to them, like “hey it’s not about training MMA”.

Go through there, show them what they can do there.

Conclusion

Keep it simple, don’t freak out.

Pixels can get a little overwhelming.

Just start small.

This is the first step.

We’ll go deeper down in future episodes. But I wanted to address the pixel because I get a lot of questions from new people who come into our consulting program at Combat Business.

“How do I do that?”

“The pixels confusing though”

I’m like “just relax, it’s gonna be okay and we’ll get everything set up for you”.
